I live in the deep south and planted this last year. While it grew to six feet, it had no blooms. This year, however, it is covered in blooms and it's early April. I did have to spray for white flies. Plant is gorgeous. I will try taking cuttings this fall. Have never done that.

This is 2 nod plant I purchased. The first one I was able to put in the ground and it flourished. I found it necessary to keep up with trimming new growth at base regularly. The one I have now is in a container and th base still has 3 branches that have not established a trunk. And the branches are thin. Any suggest?

These plants need a lot of water and Sun. They cannot get too much. Fertilize once a week. I use tomato fertilizer. Watch out for white flies. Also their scent only comes out in the evening. Around dusk. Beautiful plants and flowers. Well worth the wait. Do be advised that frost will immediately kill them. However mine come back every year. Awesome possum!

I bought this plant three years ago. this is the first year that this plant has bloomed. I was ready to throw this plant out. The flowers are gorgeous. Although I have a 3-n-1 the only color that has bloomed so far is yellow. I can't wait to see the other colors when they bloom!

Brugmansia have also traditionally been used in many South American indigenous cultures in medical preparations and as a ritualistic hallucinogen for divination, to communicate with ancestors, as a poison in sorcery and black magic, and for prophecy. Medicinally, they have mostly been used externally as part of a poultice, tincture, ointment, or where the leaves are directly applied transdermally to the skin. So best wear gloves when handling this shrub

For those who are not well versed with the Burgmansia, or Angels Trumpet as someone else stated they will appear dead in the winter. I always cut mine back only leaving about 6 to 12 above the soil line depending on how mature.. The thicker the trunk the taller I leave it. Then I Mulch very heavily AND Leave It alone. The cuttings I cut into 12 sections place in a bucket of water in my garage and just make sure they have water all winter. Come spring you will have 5 , 10 or 20 how ever many cuttings you put in your bucket... New angel trumpets to plant or share. It's the plant that keeps on giving.

The blooms are beautiful and plentiful. Since it is dry here, there weren't very many leaves on the plant...it seems to need a LOT of water. Right now, it appears to be dead from the frost. Had it covered but the wind blew off the sheet. I hope the branches will just need trimming back and the plant will revive in the spring.

The plants I received were and still are very hardy, no problems at all. I am growing them in pots that are a little bigger than 20 inches, I water them about once a week, they are in my dining room with the rest of my tropicals that have to be inside for the winter here in Pennsylvania. Two summers ago I had bought the 3 in 1, but planted them separately in my yard they did wonderful until of course winter, so that is why I ordered more and keep them in the house in the winter.

A small piece of advice to those of you who are not familiar to this plant. It is not uncommon for this plant to appear as if it were dead after transplanting. Once you put it in the ground, do not disturb it again. You can also grow new plants from cutting. Prune about 10in off plant, or cut all the way back if left outside in winter frost, place one end in the dirt and leave it alone. Most of the time the cutting will die back and a new plant will emerge. If you live in the southern regions of Texas as I do, this plant does best in morning sun with filtered afternoon sun. Hope this helps.

I ordered 4 plants and planted them as soon as I received them on my deck in 4 larger flower pots, I really hope they grow like the pictures we actually brought them because the looked like they could give us some privacy from our neighbors! I'll check back in a few months and let you all know how my green thumb is coming! ;)
