Red Passion Flower

Looking for a creative way to cover up that ugly wall, fence or bare space between you and your neighbor? Have an empty trellis or decorative vine support? Then our exotic passion flowers are for you! These beauties create a unique explosion of color, texture and novelty in one dramatic bloom. Gorgeous flowers, either creamy white accented by blue-purple filaments, or deep red with purple and white centers, instantly attract attention no matter where you grow them. With their vining habit, passion flowers are also perfect for hanging baskets, and can even be grown in patio containers so long as they are moved indoors for winter in northern zones. Once the blooms are spent, enjoy the sweet, tart, guava-like flavor of the egg-shaped fruit they produce.

Beautiful plant with attractive leaves and pretty flowers. Best of all, this is a host plant for the Gulf fritillary butterfly. If you live near the Texas Gulf Coast you will have a garden full of butterflies in late autumn and early winter.

BE CAREFUL!! This is a gorgeous flower on very pretty vines, but IT WILL TAKE OVER your yard, your neighbors' yard, the power poles, the entire street! In the north where it freezes back you may be ok but in Fl it is as invasive as Morning Glory & mint 9 mos out of the year. Sends out little runners, ALL OVER the yard, under decks, anywhere. I love mine, but my neighbors hate me for this uncontrollable plant. (Don't say I didn't warn you.... ;)

It is hard in Southern Florida to get a small plant to adulthood without bugs eating it. But I ordered this vine, put it in partial shade, and it has taken off. I am completely pleased.

I was concerned that the passion flower vine wouldn't arrive in good shape, but I was very wrong. I have been growing blue passion flower vines and couldn't resist adding red so I took the chance. It's happy as ever!
