Mighty Red Quin Astilbe

Description
Watch in awe as bronze foliage matures to a deep green behind your other shade-loving varieties. Bright red, fluffy plumes are the perfect complement to other bold shade varieties, like bleeding hearts or hosta. Excellent for naturalizing and woodland gardens, especially as it draws in butterflies and beneficial pollinators to complete the scene. This vibrant beauty makes an explosive display as a potted plant, with the added benefit of mobility, so you can make sure it continues to get the shade it loves. Deer and rabbit resistant, this tall stunner excels in the garden year after year. Can rebloom if the spent blooms are trimmed back. Astilbe 'Mighty Red Quin'

I had ordered one last year and was disappointed that it was not red. I assumed it may have been a mistake. They were good enough to refund me the money. I ordered another one this year and again it was not red.

I will definitely be ordering more of these. I've been presently suprised in the first few weeks as to the health of the plant and it's immediate and substantial growth.

I ordered 6 and they arrived as expected in good condition. I couldn't plant right away due to crazy Michigan weather. I followed the directions including amending the soil with some coffee grounds, peat, and egg shells. I applied mulch, but not too close so the shoots can keep coming! Every few days I give them a super watering to keep the soil mosit. Mighty Red Quin looks better than the pictures! The green leaves are beautiful. Can't wait to see them bloom later this year. I chose this plant for the late blooming and height. Oh, also the color red will attract hummingbirds.
