Praying Hands Hosta
Bearing a totally unique plant form, it's no wonder this variety was awarded the American Hosta Growers Association Hosta of the Year in 2011, and the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit in 2012. Upright, rippling foliage is curled in and—as its name suggests—resembles hands in prayer. The upright, rippling leaves aren't just intriguing to look at, they're actually harder to get to and less desirable to hungry slugs. The uncommon shape shows off the leaves attractive, shiny underside, especially lovely in contrast to its matte finish on top. The edges and margins are highlighted in creamy white. This hosta prefers part to full shade, energizing a shady border and making a lovely ground cover under trees. Easy-to-grow for a naturalized look, and an excellent addition to a rock or container garden. In late summer, the leaves are joined by 18" flower scapes that attract butterflies. Hosta 'Praying Hands'
